Sketch for Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Musgrave Ritual

I'm working on some cover art for the upcoming New Jersey SCBWI conference. I thought this sort of costume might have come in useful but in the end scrapped the idea and found that the photo comes  from  a Life Magazine image of Andrew Carnegie.
